Silent Earth is a contemplative virtual reality experience developed as my final project for the Professional Project course. The player is dropped into an abandoned, overgrown town and encouraged to explore at their own pace.
Scattered throughout the environment are three letters left behind by the town’s former inhabitants. These letters reveal personal regrets and stories told just before an apocalyptic event. The game’s core purpose is to invite players to reflect on their own lives and question what they would regret if they knew the world was ending.
Most of the environmental assets, including houses and buildings, were modeled and textured by me in Maya, while some additional props were sourced from the Unity Asset Store. Built in Unity, Silent Earth uses environmental storytelling and VR immersion to create a quiet, emotional experience that encourages deep reflection on loss, memory, and the human condition.
Currently, Silent Earth is a work-in-progress prototype, with plans to expand the narrative, enhance interactivity, and further refine the immersive environment in future iterations.
